going to college is great
getting married is great
having children is great
but implying that there’s something wrong with people who don’t want to do those things and that they’ll never feel fulfilled in life if they never do those things is not great
A lot of people dont understand what ‘fake’ is. Everyone says things about people behind their backs. That doesnt make you fake. In fact, people who say things openly behind someones back are inadvertenly telling you about themselves. Subconsciously, that person believes those things about themselves, but pride, or just the sheer truth of it even, keeps them from accepting it. Sigmund freud was a pioneer in this very study actually, if ik not mistaken. That makes you human. A lot of people assume that it means that people lie a lot. This is also false. Of course people will lie, but that doesnt make someone fake. A fake person is someone who deliberately makes you feel liked, or needed, or even just remotely tollerable, and then in the most critical moment, that person abandons you, or betrays you. That is the epitome of ‘fake.’ Now for the point behind this. Im going to openly accept my flaws, and work to improve them. And if anyone thinks that im cold, or even hurtful because of me being completely selfish, i do not care. I can only be taken advantage of so many times before i finally snap. There is no miniscule part of me that feels any slight hint of remorse for you. And i swear, there will never be another undeserving soul in my life that gets to benefit from me. My mom, my close friends, and myself are all i have.
